Greater Carbondale YMCA Swim Programs

At the Greater Carbondale YMCA, our Swim Programs offer a safe, fun, and structured environment for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re looking to introduce your child to the water, improve your swimming technique, or enjoy a water-based workout, we have the perfect program for you!

Swim Lessons

We provide swim lessons for all ages, from infants to adults. Our instructors focus on water safety, stroke development, and confidence-building to ensure every participant feels comfortable and capable in the pool.

The next session will tentatively begin on Thurs., July 10 and Sat., July 12. Open enrollment tentatively begins Mon., June 30th.

  • Parent & Child Classes (Ages 6 months – 3 years)
  • Preschool & Youth Swim Lessons (Ages 3 – 12 years)
  • Teen & Adult Lessons (Ages 13+)

Lessons are held year-round with sessions every 8 weeks.  Sessions are held on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.  Children are registered by their ability (refer to the above TOOL). 

Water Fitness Classes

Stay active and have fun with our Water Fitness Classes! These low-impact workouts provide a great way to improve cardiovascular health, strength, and flexibility while being easy on the joints.

Open Swim & Lap Swimming

Looking for flexible pool access? Our Open Swim & Lap Swimming options allow members to enjoy recreational swimming, train at their own pace, or simply unwind in the water.

  • Open Swim: Family-friendly sessions for all ages.
  • Lap Swimming: Dedicated lanes available for individual training.
