Vision
The Y’s Commitment to America is developing new generations of changemakers who will create communities we all want to live in. We envision communities where all people achieve health, gain confidence, make connections and feel secure at every stage of life.
What We Do
- At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors in Lackawanna, Susquehanna, & Wayne Counties to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
- There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. With a focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every child and teen, improves the nation’s health and well-being, and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
- The Greater Carbondale YMCA is a charity turning no one away. Through our financial assistance program, we are proud to provide assistance to children, adults and families, allowing all members of our community to access all our Y has to offer.

Who We Serve
We welcome everyone at the Greater Carbondale YMCA! From the youngest members of our community to our valued seniors, we offer programs and services designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals and families in Carbondale and neighboring towns, including Forest City, Jermyn, Archbald, Scranton, Greenfield Twp., Clifford, Uniondale, Browndale, Waymart, Honesdale, Olyphant, Jessup, and Clarks Summit.
Programs that Inspire
The Greater Carbondale YMCA offers a diverse range of programs designed to enrich lives and strengthen our community. From fitness and wellness programs for all ages and abilities, including state-of-the-art fitness centers, group exercise classes, and personal training, to enriching youth programs like sports leagues, after-school care, and summer camps, there’s something for everyone. Families can connect through various family-friendly activities and events, while those seeking aquatics programs can enjoy swimming lessons, water aerobics, and open swim in our aquatics center. We also provide quality childcare options in a safe and nurturing environment
