GREAT SUMMERS START AT THE Y!
Summer Day Camp (kids entering 1st grade through 7th grade)
Who’s ready for summer after the cold and snowy winter we had? Boy, are we!!
At Y day camp, kids can develop skills, self-confidence, new friendships and a sense of belonging – all while having tons of fun.
From games and sports to arts and crafts to outdoor adventures to science and technology, a Y day camp experience offers kids the chance to learn new things and enjoy new adventures.
In order to have fun and thrive, kids need to feel both physically and emotionally safe. When you drop your child off at a Y day camp, you can rest assured that their total well-being will be nurtured and supported by caring Y staff who are committed to ensuring that their experience is a great one.
We’ve adapted our day camp programs to meet CDC safety recommendations to help keep kids safe from COVID-19. Masks are required for all staff and participants.
Our full-day, day camp is offered from 9:00am-3:00pm with additional care before starting at 6:30am and after ending at 5:30pm, if needed.
Throughout the week, we will keep the campers busy by swimming, taking nature walks to local parks, playing in both gym & team building games.
Also included with camp is the FREE food program, where all campers will receive a free breakfast, lunch, and snack. During the week campers also participate in science experiments and cooking projects which will be turned into that days snack. Campers will make life-long friends at the Y as they make memories together.
Financial assistance is available for families who need it to ensure that all kids in our community can have enriching summer experiences.
Early Learning Resource Center offers a subsidy program through Lackawanna County. This program helps families pay for daycare services while parents work. Those needing financial assistance must go through ELRC first before requesting a scholarship from the YMCA. Call ELRC at 570-468-8144.
Fee for full day summer camp is $120 for YMCA members and $155 for non-members. (There is a one-time, $30, non-refundable, registration fee for camp that must be paid at the time of registration.)
School Year Camp
The YMCA offers daycamp at the Y during the school year when school is not in session. Also if school is cancelled due to inclement weather, the Y offers camp. Campers need to pack a lunch, bathing suit, and towel for these days. All children from all the local schools are invited to join in the fun-filled day.
